Managing Recordings
Recordings are the audio files for your songs. Upload demos, works-in-progress, or releases and share them with fans for feedback or exclusive access.
Creating a Recording
- Go to Music → Recordings (or from a playlist/song)
- Click New Recording
- Select the Song and fill in:
Production Stage
- Idea — Early concept
- Demo — Rough recording
- Recording — In progress
- Mix — Mixing phase
- Master — Final master
- Release Candidate — Ready for release
Recording Details
- Version — Increment for each new version (1, 2, 3)
- Runtime — Length of the recording
- Audio File — Upload MP3, WAV, FLAC, etc.
Focus Notes
Tell fans what to listen for. What feedback would be most helpful? (e.g., "Does the bridge feel too long?")
Recording Tasks
Check off tasks that are done (mix, master, artwork, etc.). Helps you track progress.
Publishing
- Published — Visible to fans when set
- Release Date — Schedule for future or set to now
- Locked — Prevents further edits once finalized
Visibility
- Exclusive To — Leave empty to share with all members, or select groups for exclusive access
Chord Charts
Add chord charts in ChordPro format. Format: [MM:SS.ss] for timestamps, then lyrics with [Chord] markers. Example:
[00:00.00] [C] Some lyrics here
[00:15.00] [G] More lyrics
Feedback
Fans can comment on recordings. Use Focus Notes to guide their feedback—what to listen for, what you're unsure about.
Tips
- Version your work — Use version numbers so you can compare different mixes
- Be specific — Focus notes help fans give useful feedback
- Use groups — Share early demos only with trusted fans before wider release
